Home Courses Accommodation About Angie Booking & Our Details Comments

Accommodation for guests is on the top floor of our three storey house in three comfortable rooms, two of which overlook the Derwent River Valley.   Tea, coffee and a help-yourself breakfast of home-made bread, honey, jams, fruit compote, muesli etc. are provided. We provide a two-course dinner in the  evening for those who are resident.

Our house is centrally heated and the lounge and workshop also have wood burning stoves.

NB. We do not offer en suite facilities.

The Peak District is a beautiful area and our house and gardens are no exception. The house dates from the mid 18th century with Victorian additions. It is eccentric in shape and for parts of its life was a public house. We have stunning views across the Derwent Valley towards Oker and Snitterton.

Carl, Angie and their son Gabriel grow vegetables and fruits in their large garden and orchard without the use of pesticides and using only organic manures and fertilisers. As far as possible we use our own produce in the food we cook. We keep chickens, honeybees and various pets.

Bed & Breakfast is £35 per night. Dinner is £15. A complimentary glass of wine is offered with dinner; do bring wine with you if you wish. We have 2 double bedrooms and one single room. Partners are most welcome. Typically students usually choose to arrive on the Thursday evening and leave Monday evening - costs would be as follows:-

Bed and breakfast Thursday night
£35

Dinner, bed and breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday
3x£50 = £150

Tuition for 4 days on long weekend course
£395
Total = £580
The Peak District is well known for its scenery. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both only a few minutes drive from our house and the market town of Bakewell is just six miles away. There is plenty of excellent walking in the dales of the White Peak and the moor land of the Dark Peak plus many other outdoor pursuits.
