A comment sent in October 2022 from one of two friends who both made curtains and blinds professionally but wished to learn some loose cover skills. They came on a 3-day class. Finished chair photos below. They deliberately chose very different style covers and fabrics.
Hi Angie,
Thank you so much for the great weekend, I really enjoyed it and learnt so much.
Your be pleased to know I have made a template this week and also constructed a cover out of lining fabric, as I really don’t want to forget this new skill.
Also more than happy for you to use the photos on your website.
Thanks again.
Wendy

An email from a headteacher of a primary school who came on the long weekend in August 2021
.Hi Angie,
thank you for everything! I cannot express just how much good your course did me and I didn't realise just how much I needed it or just how much I would enjoy it!
You are an extremely talented lady and you should also appreciate that many before you have tried to teach me sewing and have been bitterly disappointed by me!
Please also thank Carl for letting me view his fantastically inspirational 'shed' and of course his expert cuisine! I am designing a 'sensory garden' for my school and have shown the living wall to my children who love the idea!
I look forward to my next venture with you!
Take care and make sure you also get some rest and take time for yourselves.
Kindest regards and grateful thanks,
PS I shared my sourdough with my staff team who drooled over it leaving only crumbs for me to have! I wish I hadn't been so generous!

An email from one of three ladies who stayed with us on the January long weekend course in 2019. we all had a great weekend.
Hi Angie,
just wanted to say a big thank you for last weekend. I was really looking forward to this upholstery course, but I have to say it exceeded all my expectations, I love your enthusiasm for the subject and how you teach, in particular how you stop us whatever we are doing to come over and observe when someone else reaches an important stage on their project. I feel i have learnt so many important techniques in just one long weekend and feel confident to tackle my next project. The accommodation and food package was also just what I needed, it was like home from home and enabled me to forget about everything else and concentrate on my project for the weekend. Thank you, Carl, for all the wonderful meals, you both make a great team and I hope to see you again in the future. Also thank you Jenny and Jo for making this such an enjoyable weekend.
Best wishes,
Pam.
A card from a lady who attended the long weekend course in January 2018 with the intention of of making soft furnishings for a career. She has already starting taking commissions after just a 4 day course!
Thank you doesn't quite cover it! What a 4 days. I've learnt so much from you and have very much appreciated your humour, patience and teaching style. I really so think, that thanks to you, that I might actually be able to do this - although i do rather need to speed up!! I have very much enjoyed your company as i have that of Sherilyn and Teri. What a lucky girl I've been to have been part of such a wonderful weekend. Big thanks too to Carl, such a treat to have all the delicious creative, and lovingly cooked meals. Again, I have really enjoyed your company. So basically a GREAT BIG THANK YOU> Debbie

I absolutely loved my weekend of upholstery - it superseded my expectations which were already high and you were a fantastic and talented teacher who made the group feel very welcome. I haven't shut up about it since and I've got a few of the girls at work interested now too!!! I want to upholster every day now - it's far more enjoyable than health visiting!!!
Thanks again for such an interesting and enjoyable weekend and give Libby a fuss from me!!!

excellent loose cover for a difficult chair .....I just want to say thank you for such a very enjoyable course. Carl cooked us wonderful food, the company was most entertaining and the teaching terrific. My loose cover fits like a glove (as it should!)........... |
From Sue who attends the evening classes and came on February 2014 long weekend
Hi Angie, Quick email now I am back with my nose to grindstone, to say thank you so very much for a lovely 4 day-workshop. I did so appreciate your attention and patience, especially with my continuing inability to make the cuts in the right place! The atmosphere in the workroom all weekend was industrious yet relaxing at the same time and a pleasure to be a part of. Not forgetting of course, the lovely (and in my case, thoughtful, when it came to replacing pasta) lunches, cakes and biscuits, which were most certainly very appreciated! Looking forward to the next evening class in March. |
An email from the June long weekend course - Pictures below
My daughter Emma loved her chair, and I've been showing it off to the family who are all very impressed!
I hope the others finished ok, they were so lovely. I am sure I will be back at some point with another project...
Take care Nic xxx

An email from a student on the October course.
Hi Angie, I am thoroughly missing the fab food, excellent company and days spent upholstering. Not to mention Baggy, Olive and Libby! You have a fantastic set up, absolutely brilliant and it does not surprise me that you have repeat customers. I loved every minute of those 4 days, which far exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much for everything Marie |
